Last week and throughout this term we will be having a focus on Gratitude. Gratitude is being thankful for the big and small things you have in your life.
Being grateful is an important strategy to help spend time on the good things in our lives. It has many benefits. These include:
- Greater connection to others
- Increased personal joy
- Better Sleep
- Exercising more regularly
- Lowering symptoms of physical pain
Here are four ways to show gratitude in the ordinary as well as the extraordinary. Find things each day to be thankful for.
- Thank God -There's no greater sign of appreciation than to be remembered in any and everything you do.
- Do something for others- One of the most profound ways to express your gratitude is by doing things for others, sharing your gifts.
- Say “Thank you” to others- Any kindness regardless of size is a reason to express your thanks. A simple verbal "thank you" or a more formal thank you note/card is all it takes to show you are grateful and make someone's world a little brighter at the same time.
- Pray- In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, God directs you "in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." While that may seem overwhelming to accomplish, the Bible provides directions on how to achieve that level of complete gratitude. A simple prayer that may help…
Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with people who always look out for me. You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with kind words and actions.
Happy Everything

Unconformity - Silent Auction
Thank you to the Parents and Friends, Mr Young, Mrs Thompson and all staff who made themselves available. Our contribution as part of the Art trail with the silent auction was amazing. Students should be really proud of themselves. I have a few pieces of art in my office if any parents missed their opportunity to bid on their students work and would like them. Fundraising
Myrtle had an awesome adventure last Friday following the Unconformity kids art trail and seeing some other exhibits and art galleries along the way! We started at the Scout Hall to have a look at Thresholds. Next we went down Hunter St and met Raymond Arnold. We stopped in at West Coast Connect. We tried to find the shape at the old Evans store but couldn’t see it. We walked over to the PCYC for Blue Circuit and then checked out Marion Stitch’s necklace at Penghana. After some recess we walked to the Station Gallery, crossed the road to QWest, walked around to Gumley’s and then headed up Orr St. We had an ice cream outside Memorial Hall, picked up a temporary tattoo from West Coast branding and made it back to school in time for lunch. After lunch we hopped on the bus and went to see Earthshine and we finished our tour at the Mt Lyell Office to check out Aeolian Dust. When we got back to school we had a quick look at our art work in the assembly hall. It was a big day but we received a lot of compliments on our behaviour and had a fantastic time.
